The Women’s Centre for Change, Penang is a non-profit organisation dedicated to end violence against women and children, promoting gender equality and social justice ( It has two offices: one in Penang island and another in Seberang Perai. We are looking for persons who are self motivated, can multi-task, work independently and is a team player.

1. Senior Advocacy Officer

  • Provide critical inputs and actions to advocate for the rights of victims of domestic violence and sexual crime by working closely with relevant government agencies
  • Supervise WCC’s advocacy work towards supporting victims of domestic violence and sexual crime to access justice in the criminal justice system
  • Undertake training for relevant agencies for the improvement of the rights of women and children
  • Work with other NGOs to campaign for the advancement of policy and legal reforms of women and children


  • Degree in Law or related areas like social science/development studies.
  • At least four years of relevant experience
  • Good command of spoken and written Bahasa Malaysia and English
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

2. Social Worker

  • Provide counselling (face-to-face, hotline) and shelter assistance for domestic violence and sexual violence clients
  • Work closely with the hospital, welfare department and police to give support to victims of domestic violence and sexual crime to access justice in the criminal justice system
  • Promote WCC service work through talks and activities as part of WCC’s mission


  • Degree in social work, counselling and related field and/or experience.
  • Good command of written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia/Chinese and English language
  • Have a pleasant personality and work well in a team
  • Driving licence is essential

3. Project Officer

  • Liaise with schools and conduct the Ok Tak Ok (good touch, bad touch) program in the primary schools in Penang and other states.
  • Assist in the conduct of the WCC youth programs such as Cybersafety, Respek, and Girls program for secondary schools and other institutions
  • Liaise with education authorities and schools for the training of educators/teachers on WCC outreach programs.
  • Assist in the update of WCC’s work activities and programs in the social media


  • Degree in social science, communication or any related field
  • At least two years of work experience
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English
